Summary

Starting on September 8th, 2023, Paysafe Merchant Services Inc is teaming up with VikingCloud, a well-known company that specializes in keeping information safe. Together, they're launching a new program called PaysafePCI to manage merchant PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) compliance. This program is all about making sure that merchants can easily follow the rules for keeping credit card data secure.

PCI DSS Compliance:

PCI DSS is the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards. PCI DSS are worldwide technical and operational requirements set by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) to protect cardholder data.

Key Highlights of PaysafePCI:

Fee Structure: Merchants who choose to utilize the services of the VikingCloud team through the PaysafePCI portal to assist with their compliance will incur a monthly fee. This service provides a quicker and more straightforward path to compliance.

Waiving of PCI Portal Access Fee: Merchants who prefer to use an alternate vendor or self-assess can simply provide proof of their compliance through uploading their proof of compliance to the PaysafePCI porta (https://pcidssportalna.com/), and this will result in the waiver of the PCI monthly fee.

The types of proof that are accepted include:

  • Attestation of Compliance
  • Self-Assessment Questionnaire with the merchant's signature
  • Quarterly scan results (if applicable)

PCI Compliance:

Merchants are strongly encouraged to maintain PCI compliance to avoid incurring the PCI non-compliance fee. Compliance can be achieved by either completing the portal compliance authentication process or by uploading their proof of compliance here https://pcidssportalna.com/

PCI Non-Compliance Fee:

Failure to maintain PCI compliance for 45 days or more will result in the imposition of the PCI non-compliance fee. After the initial 45-day grace period, this fee continues to be charged monthly until compliance is achieved.
