Issue:
Inconsistent display of markup percentage on invoices.
Cause:
The behavior is influenced by specific settings.
Solution;
Understanding Quote Items: Quote Items function as a database where all line items, default pricing, markup, and tax levels are stored. Default markup percentages are applied to line items when creating new Quotes or calling specific items.
Preventing changes to default markup percentage:
To prevent users from changing default markup percentage, navigate to "Quote Item Settings."
- Log in to your ServiceBox account.
- Locate the settings tab and click on it.
- Click o "Quote Item Settings" tab
- Uncheck "Allow Update of Unit Cost and Markup".
By unchecking this option, the default markup will remain unchanged even if it is modified for a specific invoice.
To set/update default Markup percentages:
- Log in to your ServiceBox account.
- Locate the settings tab and click on it.
- Click on "Quote Item" tab
Adjusting Default Markup:
- Within the Quote Items settings, you will see default markup percentages set at 25% for certain line items in the example given below.
- If you wish to change the default markup, click on the Edit button by specific line item and modify the markup to your desired value (e.g., 0%).
- Alternatively, you can export the file, make bulk changes to all line items, and reimport the updated file.
