Summary

When creating a new Work Order, the Job Site field may show up as mandatory which may create a duplicate customer entry when syncing with QuickBooks. This article will provide a solution to remove import of Job Sites in QuickBooks.

Solution

To remove import of Job Sites in QB, ensure that this function is turned off in the accounting connector:

  1. Open the Accounting connector and click on “Setup”:

Graphical user interface, text, application

Description automatically generated

  1. Go to the “Customers/Job Sites” tab, and enable “Do not Import Jobsites”:

Graphical user interface, text, application

Description automatically generated

Going forward, new Jobsites will no longer be created in QB.

How it Works

Jobsites import as Sub-customers in QuickBooks:

Graphical user interface, text, application, table

Description automatically generated

In this “Flat View” it appears that the customer (abbot industry, and abbot industry: 444 Yonge Street) has been duplicated…

….in fact, it has not…

Simply right click on the customer and change to “Hagiarchy View”:Graphical user interface, text, application, table

Description automatically generated

Graphical user interface, application, table, Excel

Description automatically generated

… now we can see that customer (jobsite) 444 Yonge Street is in fact, the sub-customer of “abbot industries”.
