Summary

This document will explain various ways to create a new work for a customer.  As you will see there is a few different ways to create a work order.  Choose the way that works best for you and your company.


Some of the options are:

  • From the main ServiceBox Screen
  • From a Customer or Job Site
  • In the Scheduler in both dispatcher mode and the main view.


From Main ServiceBox Screen

Create a new Work Order by choosing: New -> Work Order in the main ServiceBox screen.  When you do this you will need to enter in the Customer and Job site for the customer along with the details of the work.  You will also need to enter in the assigned to user.


From inside a customer

Locate a customer and open the customer.  Click on the Work Order tab and click on the Add workorder button.  In this case you will not have to choose the customer, but will need to choose a job site.  You will also need to set the assigned to for the work order.


From inside a Job Site


Locate and open a job site.  Click on the Work Order tab and click on the Add workorder button.



Create a work order from the scheduler dispatcher mode

Open up the scheduler and choose the dispatcher mode.  For a specific employee click on a time slot and when you do the option will appear to add either a scheduled event or a work order.  


When you choose add work order, you will get the option to create a new work order and it will add it to the time slot and user chosen.  You will need to enter in the customer and job site info along with all other details.


Fields Required to Complete

In order to finish the creation of the Work Order we need to enter in the following fields:

  • Bill to - This is the customer that the bill will be sent to
  • Job Site - This is the location of the work
  • Assigned to - This is the person responsible for the work to be completed
  • Status - This is the work order status (will default to a value on create)
  • Description - This is the work that needs to be completed.
  • Optional - Timeslot - enter the values here if you want to create a time slot for a specific date / time.
